WHY WE DO THIS
At Yard Sail all profits go to vital causes. The list of recipients will evolve over time. Currently our contributions will be equally shared between the following 3 entities:
Upbeat is a transformative institution providing free music lessons, including classical, Latin and Jazz, to hundreds of children in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx.
La Morada is a celebrated Oaxacan restaurant here in Mott Haven run by the undocumented Saveedra family. For this reason they have not received any pandemic relief. Despite this challenge, they have provided up to 1000 free daily meals to local families negatively impacted by Covid-19. They plan to continue as long as there is a need and they can find support.
G.L.I.T.S. provides immediate needs / crisis support as well as a full spectrum of critical services to transgender sex workers and other vulnerable members of the LGBTQ and TNCQ (transgender, non-conforming and Questioning) communities in NYC.
